Mercury Retrograde February - March 2020

Throughout the vast majority of this retrograde, Mercury will be in Pisces, the sign of its detriment. (Part 1). Although this is not the best place for Mercury to be, there are positive ways of working with it.Because the nature of Mercury is rational, logical and factual, it is a bit challenging when it resides in a sign that is unlike his nature. Pisces is such a sign, in that it is amorphous, lending itself toward imagination, dreaming and a more psychic way of being in the world. So, in order to avoid potential pitfalls during this portion of the retrograde, the most important issue to address is whether the information you are receiving is true and verifiable or whether it seems entirely implausible, made up, unverifiable or downright fishy. (Pardon the pun – Pisces is the sign of two fishes.)

Since a Mercury retrograde period is always a fitting time to go back and review and re-do, this is a great time to review your own world of imagination. Perhaps you feel like watching a favorite movie because of the metaphors contained therein. Or, you may find art or music appealing because of their etheric appeal. Give in to those impressions, as they will likely strike strong emotional and psychic chords.

During Part 2 of this cycle, when Mercury is in Aquarius,the texture will be totally different. Mercury is very happy in this sign and,in fact, is in its sign of exaltation, meaning that of all the signs of the zodiac, this is the sign where Mercury operates with the greatest brilliance.Use this time to review brainstorms, innovations, technology, quirky connections from your past and people with whom you’ve shared similar social ideologies. You may find that by reconnecting, you’re setting the table for a whole new realm of social or perhaps political interactions. Allow your intuition to guide you and pay close attention to that sense of kismet or the uncanny. Remind yourself that things don’t “just happen.” They “happen just.”
