Kathryn Silverton earned her master’s degree in psychology from The University of West Georgia in 1979 and became professionally certified as an astrologer by The American Federation of Astrologers in 1983.She advises her clients on how to maximize upcoming planetary cycles, recommends ideal timing for major events such as fertility, surgery, weddings, real estate transactions and travel, as well as favorable locations for accomplishing one’s goals. Other specialties include compatibility and chart interpretation to help clients better understand themselves, their challenges and missions. She teaches intermediate to advanced levels of astrology, including chart interpretation, the use of tools to move the chart forward, such as secondary progressions, solar arcs and solar returns and teaches the math of casting astrological charts that is required to pass certification exams.

Kathryn was introduced to astrology during her undergraduate studies in psychology. She quickly realized how it dovetailed with psychology and saw it as a useful tool for helping one better understand oneself and implement one’s talents and resources. She authored a monthly column for United Airlines’ inflight magazine, Hemispheres, was a contributor to Aquarius magazine and wrote Lunar casts 2012.

She accurately forecast that Atlanta would host the 1996 Olympics and except for the 2016 election, has been 100% accurate in forecasting the outcome of American presidential elections, dating back to 1992.

She is an active member of The Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society, having served on the board of directors for ten years. Kathryn has presented lectures for professional conferences sponsored by The American Federation of Astrologers and the United Astrology Conference and has had articles published by the National Council for Geocosmic Research.

For 16 years, Kathryn wrote her "In the Stars" column for United Airlines' in-flight magazine, Hemispheres, and is a contributing writer to Atlanta's Aquarius newspaper. She served 6 years as president of the Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society, and as recording secretary and treasurer.

Kathryn has been heard on radio talk shows throughout the United States and hosted her own program. Callers are often surprised by the accuracy of her "instant readings," which are based on the date, time and place of a caller’s birth.

She has written articles for various publications, including Atlanta magazine, Maryland's Family Magazine and Charlotte Creative Loafing. She was mentioned in the 1991 World Series Edition of Sports Illustrated for predicting prior to the start of the "worst-to-first" season that the Atlanta Braves would go to the World Series in 1991. She also accurately predicted the end of the Persian Gulf War, before the ground war even began. Kathryn predicted the timing of the end of the baseball strike of 1995 and the winner of the 2000 presidential election. She recently accurately predicted the outcome of the 2001 mayoral race and three out of four winners of the City Council race for Charlotte, North Carolina, upon request of Charlotte Creative Loafing

Articles about Kathryn have appeared in several publications, including the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She was honored at the Eighth Annual Atlanta Journal Letter Writers’ Forum in 1988 for a letter to the editor regarding the historical practice of astrology in the United States and the status of astrology in Atlanta. In addition to consulting with clients throughout the world she also teaches astrology, including the mathematics of casting charts, and offers lectures to various organizations such as MENSA and Rotary Clubs. Some of Kathryn’s professional affiliations include:
